Poço das Pulgas hike takes place on the north side of the island in the Ponta Delgada region. This hike follows a trail around the valley of Ribeira da Camisa. The hike starts with a challenging climb in an irregular trail that quickly leads up to Cascata do Rabo Burro, a great site in the heart of the forest, where you can contemplate a waterfall and small lagoon. From here we continue to follow the trail uphill, through vibrant sections of forest until we reach the small lagoon of Poço das Pulgas. After Poço das Pulgas we cross Riberia da Camisa over to the other side of the valley and make our way down to where we started. This is a great hike, short in distance but very intense and challenging given its difficult, steep, and uneven terrain.
